In the US, Samsung has begun distributing the stable Android 13 upgrade to unlocked Galaxy S22 handsets. The SamMobile staff provided the confirmation.
Users of the Galaxy S22 in Europe have already received the Android 13 update from Samsung. The software soon began to affect carrier-locked Samsung flagship handsets in the US. Users of the Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra who have unlocked versions can now update to Android 13 in the US.
Firmware version S90xU1UEU2BVJA is the upgrade for non-carrier S22 phones. It includes One UI 5.0 and its updated user interface. Of course, you have access to all of Android 13’s features. Like enhanced Material You settings, notification permissions, greater privacy and security, and per-app language controls.
However, the phones are still running the October security patch. As one of the companies that push out new security upgrades the quickest in the industry, Samsung, this should soon change.
What’s new in Galaxy S22’s Android 13 (One UI 5.0) update?
The Galaxy S22’s One UI 5.0 beta update from Samsung introduces a new UI style with the extended Color Palette functionality. Which was influenced by Google’s Material You design language. Stacked Widgets, a modified alerts layout with larger icons, and multitasking gestures are all included in the update. Additionally, it adds a section for linked devices where you can view all of the settings for your accessories and connected devices.
Additionally, the South Korean company has combined privacy and security elements under one roof, making it simpler to glance at both of them. Newer emojis, more keyboard layouts, and languages, improved search, and sorting, per-app language settings, increased accessibility capabilities, and more are all available in standard apps. You may also extract text from photographs using the live view feature in the Camera app or the Gallery app. One UI also shows potential actions based on the selected text.
