Avoid Hot Environments

Did you know that your Samsung phone works best at temperatures ranging from 0 to 35 degrees Celsius?

If you reside in a region where the temperature exceeds 35 degrees Celsius, it is critical that you place your phone aside on a regular basis to rest and cool down.

Try to keep your phone in a cooler location if possible. Also, avoid using your phone for extended periods of time.

Remove the Protective Coverage

Certain phone cases are renowned for retaining heat and overheating the phone.

If you use a phone cover or case that does not provide enough area for heat dissipation, your phone may overheat.

In such a case, try changing the protective cover. If you can’t do it right away, remove the case and store your phone somewhere cool.

Disable all background apps

It is normal to leave programs running in the background after you have finished using them. Although most of us do it, it is not a good habit. Background applications might cause a phone to overheat.

On your phone, tap the Recent Key to see all the background apps that are active. When they appear, touch the ‘Close All’ option to end all background programs.

Disable 5G, Bluetooth, and other services.

Nobody needs all services at the same time. All of these services drain the battery and dramatically heat the phone. It is preferable to turn them off and just turn on the ones you require.

Turn on Bluetooth, for example, only when you need it. Similarly, when you enable Wi-Fi, disable mobile data. You don’t need both at the same time.

Location services are only required when using taxis or food delivery applications. When not in use, you can safely disable this service.

All of these options are accessible via the Quick Access panel and may be toggled on or off with a single press.

Remove Corrupt Apps

If the overheating problem began after you installed a certain app, that program might be to blame. Removing a bad app might help your phone cool down.

Simply enable Safe Mode to disable all apps except the native apps. If the overheating problem is fixed, you will know that an app is to blame. You may then uninstall it to resolve the issue.

By pushing and holding the power button, you may activate Safe Mode. The Power Off symbol will appear. To view the Safe Mode symbol, tap and hold the icon. Now, press the Safe Mode symbol to restart your phone in Safe Mode.

Examine the Charger

It is possible that the culprit is a cheap, fake, or malfunctioning charger. Make certain that you are using an official Samsung charger. If the one that came with your phone is broken, contact Samsung for a replacement.

Any charger that is not manufactured or approved by Samsung may overheat or harm your phone. Using the proper charger will prevent your phone from overheating (if this occurs during charging).

Make use of Power Saving Mode

To be honest, this is only a temporary remedy. All background services will be disabled under the Power Saving mode. Services like animation, brightness, location check, data synchronization, network utilization, and so on can deplete battery life and cause the phone to overheat.

When these services are deactivated, the battery life improves and the overheating problem is rectified.

To activate the Power Saving mode, follow these steps:

  • Power saving mode may be found in Settings » Battery and device maintenance » Battery. To turn it on, use the toggle switch.

Perform an Update

A software fault may be at blame for your phone overheating. A software update can permanently resolve this issue.

Use the following procedure:

  • Configuration » Software Update » Download and Install

This repair is only effective when a software update is available. Even if a software flaw is not to blame for your phone overheating, you must constantly maintain its software up to date.

Delete the System Cache Partition

Everything your phone does is handled by the system cache partition. If the cache files stored there become corrupted, the phone may overheat. Wiping the partition cache might be beneficial. Follow these steps:

  1. Switch off the phone.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key, followed by the Side key.
  3. The Android logo will be shown. This is where you let go of all keys.
  4. For 30-60 seconds, the phone will display ‘Installing System Update.’ Wait.
  5. Following that, the phone will display Android recovery menu choices.
  6. To highlight the Wipe Cache Partition option, tap the Volume Down key on your phone multiple times.
  7. Finish the selection, and hit the Power key.
  8. To finish the option, press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘Yes,’ followed by the power key.

When the procedure is finished, you will get a notice that states Reboot system now. To turn on the phone, press the Power button.

Perform a factory reset

  6. Navigate to Wipe Data/Factory Reset by using the Volume Down key.
  7. To pick an option, press the Power key.
  8. Navigate to Factory data reset by pressing the Volume Down button.
  9. To pick the choice, press the Power key.

Wait for the phone to finish the procedure, and then press the Power Key to restart your phone when you see the message Reboot system now.
