Quinton de Kock has blazoned an unforeseen withdrawal from Test justice with immediate effect” to spend further time with his growing family”. de Kock was due to miss the alternate and third Tests against India on maternity leave but has decided to step down from the longest format entirely. He remains available to play white-ball justice for South Africa.
“This isn’t a decision that I’ve come to veritably fluently,” de Kock said in a statement issued by CSA.” I’ve taken a lot of time to suppose about what my future looks like and what needs to take precedence in my life now that Sasha and I are about to drink our first child into this world and look to grow our family beyond that.
My family is everything to me and I want to have the time and space to be suitable to be with them during this new and instigative chapter of our lives.
“I love Test justice and I love representing my country and all that it comes with. I have enjoyed the ups and the campo, the fests, and indeed the bummers, but now I have plant commodity that I love indeed more.
“In life, you can buy nearly everything except for time, and right now, it’s time to do right by the people that mean the most to me.
“I would like to take this occasion to thank everyone who has been a part of my Test justice trip from the veritably morning. To my trainers, teammates, the colorful operation brigades, and my family and musketeers-I could not have shown up as I did without your support.

Quinton de Kock, 29, began 2021 as South Africa’s temporary Test captain and ended it by retiring from the format. He led South Africa in four Tests, against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, with a 50 palm record. South Africa beat Sri Lanka 2-0 at home but lost in Pakistan by the same periphery.
